This site will be about our ongoing adventures aboard ALTAIR.  Our intention is to share our experiences with friends and family, as well as other people who are interested in adventure, sailing and travel.

For the next three years we will be living aboard ALTAIR. The plan is to sail around the world.  The thought of actually doing this is a bit daunting, but this dream has been in the making for over 30 years.  There are so many details - finances, paper charts and electronic charts, cruising guides, courtesy flags for over 30 countries, vaccinations, spare parts, visas, insurances, communications, provisioning, etc., and then there are the factors you can’t control or plan for.  

You can really make yourself crazy trying to plan for something like this.  So having planned and prepared as much as is possible, we are looking forward to getting out on the water and beginning our adventure!
